Supporting Children at Risk from Syria and Türkiye Earthquake Devastation

By World Forgotten Children Foundation on Jun 13, 2023

Regrettably on February 6, 2023, the Southeast Turkey and the Northwest region of Syria suffered from a strong devastating powerful earthquake of 7.8 magnitude and a second quake magnitude 7.5 shortly after causing mass destruction. The earthquake has reportedly impacted close to 18 million people across the region leaving millions displaced from their homes.

The level of devastation in the region created dire conditions that brought about support from across the globe from governments and individuals. UNICEF launched into action quickly to support those that are most vulnerable, the children. Support from UNICEF includes lifesaving emergency nutrition safe water, immunizations to protect against disease, expert help in nature disasters, safe places to play and educational support through temporary learning centers to name only a few.

In March of 2023, World Forgotten Children Foundation (WFCF) proudly donated $500.00 to the UNICEF program for their Turkey-Syria Earthquake Emergency Assistance 2023.
